Haverstock and Galliford Try Selected for Delivery of New SEND School for Havering

Haverstock and Galliford Try are proud to announce their selection by the London Borough of Havering to deliver a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school at Balgores Lane. The project, commissioned with the support of the Southern Construction Framework (SCF) and Playle & Partners, represents a significant investment in the future of SEND provision in the borough.

Havering has seen one of the highest increases in pupils with SEND across the country, underscoring the urgent need for this new school to meet the growing demand for specialist education within the borough. This new school will supply 300 much-needed places for students aged 4-19, addressing critical SEND needs and providing the community with a vital resource. With Haverstock’s expertise and passion for SEND design and Galliford Try’s commitment to construction excellence, the project aims to establish a beacon of SEND provision, delivering high-quality, purpose-built facilities tailored to the needs of its students.

Collaborative Delivery The origin of this project is a testament to the London Borough of Havering’s dedication to investing in the futures of children and young people with SEND. Sustainability Commitment The school will be designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating and operate at net zero carbon.
