Bromley-by-Bow Underground station is located on the District and Hammersmith & City lines and is at the centre of a key seam of regeneration in East London.
The existing station is located directly on the A12 raised motorway and is the southernmost transport node of the London 2012 Legacy site. The station is to be fundamentally remodelled with a new ticket hall and two new lifts providing for capacity enhancements and step-free access. The new ticket hall asserts itself in the changing context through two elements: a perforate fin acts as a beacon against the vertical backdrop whilst the floating canopy provides elements of enclosure and improved access. The structure and materials of the building are designed to reflect both the historic industrial context of Bow and the developing aesthetic of the London 2012 and the Queen Elizabeth Park.
