Green Lanes home submitted for planning
A key desire of the brief is about ageing in place and growing older at home. As such, the proposals have been developed to enable the client’s home to adapt to her changing needs as she gets older. Level access to the front door and garden is achieved, and the existing level changes within the flat are improved.
The owner of the property requires more and better organised space to live and work. The infill side extension of the property will create an area large enough to house an open plan kitchen, living and dining room, which opens out to the garden.
The aspiration for the existing basement is to extend and convert it into habitable quarters. The existing basement head-height is low and has no natural light. The intention it to achieve an appropriate floor-to-ceiling height and to extend towards the front of the property. This will permit the installation of two rooflights to either side of the window bay to bring natural light to the front basement room.
