Haverstock wins £31m Southwark Primary Expansion Package
We're delighted to announce that we've won a £31 million package of works as part of the Southwark Council Primary Schools Expansion Programme. The package includes the extension, remodelling
and refurbishment of four schools and two new build primary schools to address the increasing demand for reception places in Southwark.
We're the Lead Architect of the winning team which comprises three other architectural practices who excel in school design: Cottrell & Vermeulen, Hayhurst and Co. and Maccreanor Lavington. The four practices share the same approach to consultation, innovative stakeholder involvement and peer design review. Claire Barton, one of our partners, explained: “We are extremely excited about leading this project and working together with other high quality school architects to provide outstanding solutions for London Borough of Southwark. We took this collaborative approach to ensure all the schools got an individual service.”
Andrew Brown, Head of Regeneration at Southwark Council, said: “We were extremely impressed with Haverstock’s bid for this programme, and are looking forward to working with them and the three other architectural practices who all have extensive knowledge and experience of developing fantastic school buildings.”
