Livity wins Civic Trust Award
We're thrilled to announce that our project The Livity School has won a Civic Trust Award as it was unveiled last Friday at the official ceremony. We were delighted to attend the official ceremony with members of the school and the design team at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. This Special Needs School in Streatham is the outcome of extensive stakeholder consultation and carefully listening to the school's needs as the Civic Trust highlighted:
"The School has been designed with inclusion in mind from the formation of the brief, through design development, to construction and occupation. Listening to the school’s needs was key, so to facilitate this and in addition to the extensive consultation carried out with individual groups of staff, governors and stakeholders, a number of whole school consultations were held during the design process. From this collaboration, an excellent piece of civic architecture has emerged that is a testimony to the architects’ ability to listen and translate this into a reality. So much thought has been put into signage, lighting, surfaces, outdoor spaces, the approach to the building and much, much more".
