New project: Taylor's Bell Foundry
We're delighted to announce our appointment to work on the urgent repairs of Grade II* listed John Taylor & Co Bell Foundry in Loughborough. Taylor's was built in 1859 and is the only remaining purpose built bell foundry in the UK. The project comprises two phases. A Historic England Grant will cover the works of Phase one which will address repair work to specific workshop, office and external areas. Phase two is the preparation of a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant application to secure enough funds to undertake a comprehensive restoration of the buildings and improve public access and engagement.
We're working closely with the client, conservation architect Rena Pitsilli-Graham and economic development and regeneration consultancy Ingham Pinnock Associates to develop a robust HLF bid and deliver the first phase due to commence on site in May 2016.
