Lex Konnexity is a competition entry for the redevelopment of a significant site in the centre of Walsall.
The scheme echoes the principles of Cedric Price’s Potteries Thinkbelt in suggesting a use of the site at canal level for a distribution hub for consumable goods around the West Midlands, and at street level for an extension to the campus of the local business College. Thus the scheme canal acts as a model for environmentally sustainable business models whilst promoting regeneration along the West Midlands canal network. Residential units are accommodated in a suspended position above the desirable canal-side walkways.
