Planning and Listed Building Consent received on Dover Town Hall

Delighted as planning and listed building consent has been received on the Dover Town Hall (Maison Dieu) restoration project. Exciting times ahead!

The Maison Dieu, translated as God’s House, is Grade I listed and a Scheduled Monument.

We were commissioned to undertake research and produce a Statement of Significance and develop a masterplan scheme for the longer term sustainability of the building to support a major NLHF bid. The bid was successful and we have been appointed on the Development and Delivery Phases. The proposal includes: improved accessibility and security; increased capacity for venue hire, including meetings, events, functions, performances; improved catering facilities and a new café space; introduction of a holiday let within the Mayor’s Parlour; improved visitor facilities and an interpretation trail around the building to make the extensive history of the building accessible to the public.
