Dover Town Hall Restoration Receives Funding

Delighted as Dover Town Hall (Maison Dieu) restoration project has received £4.27m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Maison Dieu, translated as God’s House, is Grade I listed and a Scheduled Monument.

We were commissioned to undertake research and produce a Statement of Significance and develop a masterplan scheme for the longer term sustainability of the building to support a major NLHF bid. The bid was successful and we have been appointed on the Development and Delivery Phases. The proposal includes: improved accessibility and security; increased capacity for venue hire, including meetings, events, functions, performances; improved catering facilities and a new café space; introduction of a holiday let within the Mayor’s Parlour; improved visitor facilities and an interpretation trail around the building to make the extensive history of the building accessible to the public.
